AutoExport also lets you nominate projects and applications that will be excluded from the autoexport process. For example, you might not want a test project exported. Or maybe you do not need to autoexport a third party library. The Exclude Applications and Exclude Projects buttons call up the following screens:
In these screens you can use the arrow button to put the highlighted item into the exclusion list on the right.
Alternatively you can push the Add to list button which will let you type in the name of the item to exclude. This name can contain wildcards - * and ? (* must be at end).
As items are excluded a cross is placed against them in the list on the left.
The example below shows how to exclude any applications starting with "App":
NOTE: Both of these exclusion options need to communicate with the VO repository. If you do not have VO running, and then open one of these windows, and then try to start VO you will get a message "Failed to initialise the repository". This happens because VO only allows one process at a time to use the repository.
As soon as you close the exclusion window you will be able to start VO.
The same problem does not occur if you already have VO running because the exclusion window is intelligent enough to see that VO is running and request the information from it rather than attempt to connect to the repository directly.
